Khatulistiwa Literary Award

As you might have read here, my friends and I have this ingenuous hobby of googling ourselves. I can’t remember how we got into it, but this has become our number one guilty pleasure. Then we would compare each other’s google hits. And – for once – I’m so grateful that John Mayer is not my friend so we don’t have to compete ; )

Well, anyway, when I was googling myself tonight, guess what I found out. Yours truly here, is long-listed for the 2008 Khatulistiwa Literary Award, in the Talented Young Writers category. There’s no short-list, so this is it. Seriously. I think there was a moment there where I actually grabbed a book next to my MacBook, read a sentence, just to make sure that I wasn’t momentarily dyslexic when I saw this. I even double-checked the calendar to make sure today is not April’s Fools (it’s Halloween!).

To actually win it is maybe thisclose to owning my own outlet of Sushi Tei. But for now, let me raise a glass and say YAY!
